The Experience
This is the tour that started our project — born from local proposals to move the economy of the people who give life to our town, who often can't compete against outside capital that takes the best locations. We visit and promote local markets, day kitchens, local activities, and the everyday life that is living in San Cristóbal de Las Casas. Every tour visits 5 places and includes tastings at each one. The people who welcome us share their magic and make us part of their experience. We are VERY honest about this: no one will pressure you to buy more. If you'd like to contribute to our local economy, be certain we will never take you to resellers — we take you to the people whose hands make what they sell. It benefits both sides. One more thing, made very clear: WE DO NOT CHARGE COMMISSIONS TO THE ESTABLISHMENTS. On the contrary, we PAY them for every visit, for every client, and if you return to the place, we pay again. We do NOT speak about social topics — it is not our role to share personal perspectives that don't reflect everyone's opinion. Our job is to make you fall in love with everything beautiful about San Cristóbal. When asked about social topics (the Zapatista movement, Maya culture, mother cultures, etc.), we connect you with experts on those socio-cultural themes. We deeply respect what we do and this city. Feel free to ask us anything — what to do, where to go out, dance, eat well. The life of locals.
